The real test

Tuesday is the hard part.

Nobody films the wet porch steps, the school-bus walk or the lunch rush. But that is where life happens. A knee that works on game day still has to work on an ordinary, rainy Tuesday.

See how we think about it

The gap

3 in 10 get a prosthesis.

Only about 3 in 10 Medicare patients who lose a limb get a prosthesis within three years. The technology exists. The path to it, with paperwork, denials and waiting, is the problem. We're building a simpler path.

Meet the system

One smart system for everyday walking.

A microprocessor knee designed for K2 and K3 walkers, a dynamic foot, a digitally fitted socket and an app that links you with your prosthetist between visits. Built for porch steps, not podiums.

How it works

Five steps, no mystery.

From coverage questions to your first morning walk, we keep the path short and the next step clear. Your independent prosthetist stays at the center the whole way.

Start with step one

  1. An older couple at their kitchen table looking at a laptop together (concept image)

    Step 1

    Check coverage.

Answer a few questions about your plan and state. You'll see whether you may qualify. We aim to show a typical out-of-pocket range. Coverage depends on your plan.

    Try the checker
  2. A prosthetist shaking hands with a clinical specialist in a small clinic, a prosthetic knee on the table between them (concept image)

    Step 2

    Meet a partner prosthetist.

We connect you with an independent, certified prosthetist near you. They assess what suits your life and handle the paperwork with our support.

    Find a partner
  3. A prosthetist using a handheld 3D scanner on a seated woman's residual limb, with a 3D model shown on a tablet (concept image)

    Step 3

    Scan and fit.

A quick 3D scan of your limb in your prosthetist's clinic, with the socket designed and made centrally. The goal: a better fit from day one, with fewer rounds of adjustment.

    See how scanning works
  4. Two people walking side by side on a city sidewalk, one with a carbon prosthetic foot (concept image)

    Step 4

    Walk and connect.

Head out into your day. The New Step app lets you see your progress at home and check in with your prosthetist remotely.

    Preview the app

Never Without a Step (goal, terms pending)

    Never Without a Step.

If something breaks, our goal is a replacement on its way to you within 48 hours. No weeks without a leg.

Real days, real people

Chefs, truckers, nurses, grandmothers.

Our campaign skips the stadium lights and the sad piano. It's about ordinary days: a lunch rush, a 5 a.m. truck cab, a walk to the school bus. Made with people who use prosthetics, not just about them.

Meet the everyday heroes

For prosthetists

We will never open a clinic.

Every patient who finds us goes to an independent partner. It's written into our brand charter. We train your team, provide insurance paperwork support, and refer patients. We'd rather help you win than compete with you.

Costs, made clearer

Coverage that finally makes sense.

Since September 2024, Medicare covers microprocessor knees for K2 walkers who qualify. It's a recent change, so it's worth checking. Tell us your plan type and state, and see whether you may qualify.

Under Original Medicare, Medicare typically pays 80% of the approved amount. Takes about two minutes. Free. No obligation.

Estimates are informational only. Coverage depends on your plan, and prior authorization may be required.

Short, honest answers. If we don't know yet, we say so.

Is New Step available now?

Not yet. New Step is in development ahead of a pilot launch. Join the launch list and we'll tell you when it reaches your state.

Will my insurance cover it?

You may qualify. Medicare began covering microprocessor knees for K2 walkers in September 2024, but coverage depends on your plan and your prosthetist's assessment. Our coverage checker helps you see where you stand.

Do I have to switch prosthetists?

No. New Step works through independent prosthetists. Bring yours, or we'll help you find a partner near you.

What will I pay out of pocket?

It depends on your plan. Our goal is to publish a typical out-of-pocket range. We don't waive co-pays or offer patient inducements.

What is "Never Without a Step"?

Our goal is a replacement on its way within 48 hours if something breaks, so you're not waiting weeks. Final terms will be published before launch.
